The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has listed items banned for the over 1.8 million candidates to sit for the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME.

It says this is to ensure that the examinations meet best global practices.

The items include ink or pen readers, smart lenses, smart rings or jewellery, smart buttons, bluetooth devices, key holders, Automated Teller Machine cards, calculators, hard disks or similar storage devices, among others.

The board in its weekly bulletin warned that candidates who violate the directive would be disallowed from taking the UTME.

JAMB had announced March 23, 2019 as the new date for its mock examination, saying the new date for UTME would also be announced soon.

The date of the UTME had been shifted because of the just concluded elections.
