Sudanese military delegation has held its first meeting with the African Union, AU, at its headquarters in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa.

Tuesday’s talks with AU commission chief, Moussa Mahamat came after the pan-African body’s peace and Security Council gave the government by the army a 15-day deadline to hand power to a civilian-led administration or face expulsion.

The delegation, led by Jalal Tayeb, gave Mahamat a written message from military ruler Abdel Fattah.

African Union is currently chaired by Egypt’s President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi, who also took power in a coup in 2014.
